A 26-year-old man died by suicide at the house of his girlfriend in Dagoretti Corner area, Nairobi.
This is after he failed to reconcile with the woman.
The body of Christopher Muiruri was found dangling in the bathroom of the woman.
The victim and his girlfriend had had a quarrel and the man had come there to reconcile.
The woman told police the reconciliation did not work out and that she woke up on Sunday morning and left for work leaving the man in the house.
She was shocked when she came back in the evening and found his body hanging on the roof of the bathroom after a suspected suicide.
Police said they are investigating the incident.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Cases of suicide have been on the rise in the country.
The World Health Organisation says such cases are attributed to joblessness, death, academic failures or pressures, legal difficulties and financial difficulties.
Other reasons are bullying, previous suicide attempts, history of suicide in a family, alcoholism and substance misuse, depression and bipolar disorder.
