According to the National Police Service (NPS), preliminary investigations indicate that the donkey meat was en route to Shauri Moyo Market in Nairobi, as stated in an official X statement.
Upon questioning the suspects, law enforcement successfully determined the location where the donkeys were slaughtered.
A joint team of NPS Officers and Public Health Officers later visited the slaughter site and recovered 25 skinned heads and numerous hooves of donkeys from a pit within one of the suspect’s homesteads.
The NPS reported, “Other items found at the scene included primitive tools believed to have been used for the slaughter.”
