Two police officers were Wednesday arrested over claims of robbery with violence at a home in Mirema area, Kasarani, Nairobi.
A motorist reported that he was confronted by three men armed with AK47 rifles as he drove to his house on October 19, 2025.
The men were driving in a Subaru Forester car with private registration numbers.
The complainant told police he was confronted while parking his motor vehicle outside his house along Mirema drive.
The gunmen then directed the complainant to take them to his house and on reaching there they directed him to his bedroom and ordered him to open the safe which contained travel documents and cash USD16,000.
They counted the money before escorting him to their motor vehicle and later sped off towards Lumumba drive.
The man said the officers later abandoned him at Jessekay Hospital area before he later took a boda boda back to his house and later reported the matter at Kasarani police station.
Police pursued the matter and later established the suspects were fellow officers attached to the DCI headquarters.
They were arrested pending further processing. Police termed the incident isolated and vowed justice.
The police say the incident should not be used to judge the service and that they have mechanisms of addressing such rogue officers.
