Two robberies with violence suspects were Monday arrested in Nyakach, Kisumu County, and stolen goods whose value is yet to be established were recovered.
The two, Moses Adhiambo alias Olaa and Calvin Ochieng were smoked out of their hideout in Kamiyoro village after detectives linked them to a series of robberies in Kisumu city and its environs.
The arrest of the duo followed a robbery incident where two residents were attacked and beaten senselessly by four miscreants who later ransacked their house making away with their TV sets, music systems, mobile phones and other electronic goods.
Detectives based at DCI Nyakach immediately launched investigations into the incident leading to the arrest of the two as their two other accomplices fled the scene.
Also recovered from the suspects’ hideout were 16 liters of local chang’aa brew and a stone of bhang.
Detectives are pursuing the two suspects who escaped as their accomplices remain guests of the state assisting police with investigations.
Cases of robberies have been increasing in parts of Kisumu amid calls to address the trend.
