Erveline Kareika, a 31-year-old woman from Mugambaciura village in Kirinyaga County, has drawn significant attention with her alarming claim of swallowing a sewing needle.
Facing severe health challenges, Erveline has not yet received the critical medical treatment she needs and is now appealing to the public for financial assistance to cover her medical costs.
The distressing incident, according to her husband, Kelvin Maina, occurred while he was feeding their eight-month-old son.
Maina explained that after completing some sewing tasks, he placed the needle in his mouth and inadvertently swallowed it.
Despite their efforts to address the issue, their first visit to a hospital in Embu did not provide any relief, even after they spent Sh. 800 on an X-ray.
Maina further revealed that their subsequent visit to Kerugoya Hospital, which cost Sh. 10,000, also failed to resolve the problem.
The couple is deeply worried about Erveline’s health and is anxiously seeking additional medical help.
“We are terrified that we might lose her if we don’t get the necessary treatment,” Maina said.
“I am reaching out to anyone who can help us secure the medical care she urgently needs.”
The family’s dire situation highlights the financial burden and emotional strain they are enduring while trying to manage this medical crisis.
The public’s support could prove crucial in helping Erveline receive the treatment required to address her serious health condition.
