65-Year-Old Man Found Dead In His House In Kisii

A 65-year-old man was found dead in his house in Rioma Sub-location, Kisii County, in a suspected case of sudden death.

Police said the incident was reported by the area Assistant Chief on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at about 7:40pm.

The deceased, identified as Hezron Oyaro, was reportedly found by his wife after he had gone to bed without complaining of any illness.

According to police, Oyaro had been last seen entering the house before retiring to bed.

Police visited and processed the scene before moving the body to the Maran Sub-County Hospital mortuary.

The body had no visible injuries and was preserved at the mortuary pending a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.

And a 23-year-old man died after he was allegedly assaulted by a Ugandan national in Kiamworia area, Tharaka North.

Police said Daniel Kamau reported the incident at Gatunga Police Station on October 7, 2026, at about 10:51am by a man saying his friend, Alex Mbugua, had been seriously assaulted.

Mbugua was taken to Gitare Health Centre, where he received first aid before being referred to Gatundu Level 5 Hospital. He later succumbed to injuries sustained during the alleged assault.

Police officers who visited the hospital mortuary observed visible injuries on the deceased’s left leg and swelling on his head.

The body was preserved at the hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination, while police processed the scene as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death continued.

Elsewhere, police in Imenti East, Meru County, are investigating the death of a 50-year-old man who collapsed and died under unclear circumstances at Kirika village.

The deceased, identified as Patrick Murerwa, was reportedly found lying in a pool of blood on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

Police said Murerwa’s brother was informed by a resident, that the deceased had collapsed and died instantly.

The body was found with blood oozing from the mouth and nose, although no other visible physical injuries were observed.

DCI officers processed and documented the scene before the body was moved to the Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.

The body was preserved pending a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.
