The body of a seven-year-old boy, reported missing, was found in a well in the Ngorika area of Nyandarua County.
The child, a PP1 student at Ngorika Special School, disappeared on October 9 while walking home from school, according to family and police reports.
Despite efforts by his family and the community, which included sharing his disappearance on social media, his body was not located until five days later.
On Monday night, authorities recovered his body floating in a well in Wiyumiririe.
Police have launched an investigation, considering all possibilities, including foul play, to determine the cause of death.
In a separate case, police in Sultan Hamud, Makueni County, are probing the murder of a 63-year-old man found dead on a former senior police officer’s farm.
The deceased, identified as Kakungu Muteti Mbusu, was discovered by farm workers with severe wounds to his face, head, and hand.
The body has been taken to the Sultan Hamud sub-county mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted as investigations continue.
The workers who found the body were questioned as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Meanwhile, in Marimanti, Tharaka Nithi County, the body of 47-year-old Joseph Mwangangi was found in his home.
Mwangangi was discovered on his bed with blood-soaked clothing and a deep wound stretching from his forehead to his lips.
His body has been transferred to Marimanti Level Four Hospital for an autopsy, with police seeking to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death.
Additionally, police in Gem Wagai sub-county are investigating the suspicious death of 78-year-old Bartholomew Obita Odera.
His naked body was found in a quarry in the Wagwer area, North West Gem, by local residents on Monday evening.
Authorities suspect the man was killed elsewhere and his body dumped at the site.
The body has been sent to Siaya County Referral Hospital for further examination, as police work to establish the exact cause of death.
