A 78-year-old man died after he was found lying under a tree outside the Nambale Central offices in Busia County on Thursday.
The deceased, identified as Lucas Anjelimo Lupalo, was discovered during a commotion outside the office of the Assistant County Commissioner for Nambale Central.
According to police, a local ACC was conducting a scheduled Sub-County Land Control Board meeting when he heard the commotion and went outside to establish what was happening. He found the elderly man lying under a tree and alerted police.
Officers rushed to the scene and had Lupalo taken to Nambale Level Four Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The scene was visited and documented by the Nambale OCS, SCCIO Nambale and Scene of Crime officers from Busia.
Lupalo’s body was moved to Francis Funeral Home, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy to establish the cause of death.
And the body of an unidentified man believed to be about 30 years old has been recovered from Lake Naivasha near Kihoto Town in Naivasha Sub-County, Nakuru County.
The body was spotted floating on the lake at around 11am on Thursday by a garbage collector who was at the Lake Naivasha beach.
Police officers from Naivasha Police Station, accompanied by Crime Scene Investigation personnel from the Sub-County Criminal Investigations Office, visited the scene and confirmed the discovery.
The deceased, believed to be a male adult aged about 30, had no visible physical injuries, according to police.
The scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to the Naivasha Sub-County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy and further investigations to establish the man’s identity and cause of death.
Elsewhere, a 72-year-old man was found dead inside his house in Gakoromone, Imenti North, Meru County, on Thursday morning.
The deceased, identified as Isaac Mark, was discovered lying unresponsive on his bed, with blood oozing from his nose.
Police officers visited the scene and confirmed the death.
Police observed that Mark’s face appeared swollen, while blisters were visible on his chest. However, the circumstances surrounding the injuries and death remain unclear.
His granddaughter, told investigators that Mark had recently complained of chest pain and had previously been diagnosed with heart and liver diseases.
Two mobile phones, a Neon and a Tecno, were recovered from the house and placed in safe custody. CSI officers processed and documented the scene.
The body was moved to Cool Breeze Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy to establish the actual cause of death.
