Military police are investigating an incident in which a senior officer was found dead on his couch at the Eastleigh Air Base in Nairobi.
The body of Maj Robert Lagat Kipngetich was found sprawled on his couch at the base’s staff quarters on Tuesday, July 11 evening.
Medical officers were called to the scene to resuscitate him in vain.
Police were informed of the incident and processed the scene with their colleagues from the military police.
The family of the deceased officer said he had a history of diabetes.
But the cause of the death was not immediately established.
The body was moved to the Defence Forces Memorial mortuary pending an autopsy to establish the cause of the death.
Officials asked for patience as they investigate the incident.
Many officers and soldiers at the base described the deceased as a humble and dedicated officer.
