
Three men were arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in connection with a murder that happened in July.
A 27-year-old man was killed in Ebuyalu village, Vihiga County.
The arrested men are Ibra Amos, Dickson Munala, and Sypros Omondi.
They were found in Yala township, Siaya County after forensic analysis linked them to the crime scene.
They had the victim’s personal things with them.
They are going to be charged with murder.
On July 3, a man named Ibrahim Ondeko, 27, closed his shop around 10 pm.
He was with his wife.
Suddenly, some attackers with machetes appeared and attacked them without warning.
The man died instantly.
His wife was seriously hurt but managed to escape.
She told the police that the attackers had covered their faces during the attack.
“On July 3, Ibrahim Ondeko, 27, who was in the company of his wife, had just closed his shop at around 10pm, when the thugs struck and descended on them with machetes without warning, killing the man on the spot,” the DCI said in a statement.

“We had just closed our shop and were headed home when the men who had their faces covered attacked us. One of them came after me with a machete and as I shielded myself, he struck my left arm almost dismembering it,” she said.
She escaped from the attackers and found police officers on patrol.
“The officers rushed to the scene but unluckily, found the robbers missing and the deceased’s lifeless body sprawled on the ground in a pool of blood.”
“Investigations into the macabre killing of the businessman began prompting the deployment of sleuths from the elite Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, who immediately launched a manhunt for the suspects.”
Detectives started investigating the killing and sent specialized investigators from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau to find the suspects.
