Early Friday morning, tragedy struck on the Marsabit-Moyale Road as a bus belonging to Soores company, en route from Nairobi to Moyale via Marsabit, was involved in a fatal accident at Gof Chopa area.
The incident, occurring around 5:30 am, claimed the lives of four individuals, including two men, a woman, and a girl, while leaving several others injured.
Marsabit County Police Commander Nyambu Mwakio confirmed the grim news, indicating that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident.
Meanwhile, the injured passengers are currently receiving medical treatment at the Marsabit County Referral Hospital.
As for the deceased, their bodies have been transported to the hospital’s morgue.
The accident has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting reflection on road safety measures and the importance of vigilance while traveling.
