Man Attacks Minor With Machete Over Honey Theft Allegation

A Grade 7 student from Tente village, Nyamira County, is recuperating from significant injuries following an alleged assault by a neighbor.

The 12-year-old boy, who attends Tente Primary School, was reportedly attacked by Peterson Nyakundi after Nyakundi accused him of stealing honey from his brother’s beehive.

Melen Kemunto, the boy’s stepmother, shared that the child suffered severe injuries, including deep cuts on his back and hand.

She reported that the boy was quickly rushed to Nyamira Referral Hospital for medical attention.

According to the victim, the assault was not only physical but also involved Nyakundi contacting his brother, the beehive’s owner, before allowing the injured boy to leave.

The child was reportedly sent home with his wounds untreated.

The family has since reported the assault to the local police and is calling for immediate legal action against Nyakundi.

They are seeking justice for the boy and are urging that the authorities take appropriate measures to address the incident and ensure that the alleged attacker is held responsible for his actions.

The case has drawn attention from the community, and the family is hopeful that a thorough investigation will lead to justice for the young student.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about violence and the need for prompt legal intervention in such matters.
