Police Launch Investigations Into Three Distinct Suicide Cases In Machakos And Murang’a


Authorities are looking into three reported suicide cases that occurred on Wednesday in Machakos and Murang’a Counties.

The first incident took place in Kiwanzani Village, Machakos County, where a 41-year-old man named Muindi Ndonye was found dead, having hanged himself with a manila rope tied around his neck from a tree in his compound.

Police arrived at the scene to confirm the situation, but no suicide note was found.

Officers from Matuu Police Station documented the scene, and the body, which showed no visible injuries, was taken to Mbaku Funeral Home for preservation and further examination.

In a separate incident in Uvaini Village, also in Machakos County, a 35-year-old man was discovered hanging from the roof rafters of his mother’s three-room house, with a sisal rope tied around his neck.

Police were called to the scene and found no suicide note.

The body has since been transported to Kathiani Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.

This case remains under investigation.

Additionally, in Kiriani, a 59-year-old man reportedly took his own life by ingesting insecticide.

According to police, his sons were searching for him when they found the door to his house locked from the inside.

Officers gained entry by breaking down the door and found him lying on the bed, with an insecticide container beside him.

While no suicide note was present, police recovered a 100 ml insecticide container as evidence.

Kiriani police station officers confirmed the incident after processing the scene, and the body was transported to Kiriaini Mission Hospital morgue for a postmortem.

This case is also under investigation.
