The State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services, under the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, has reported the loss of 900 birth certificate booklets from the Mutomo Registration Office in Kitui.
In a notice issued by Assistant Director Paul Mwangemi, the department provided the serial numbers of the missing certificates and warned the public about their invalidity.
“The Department hereby informs the public that the aforementioned birth certificates have been canceled, rendering them invalid,” the notice stated.
“Anyone who has received a certificate with any of the listed serial numbers is urged to return it to the Secretary of Civil Registration Services, located on the 4th floor of Hass Plaza, Lower Hill.”
Mwangemi also called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity related to the potential misuse of these certificates.
The specific serial numbers for the missing birth certificates range from 1502001 to 1502500, encompassing several groups:
1502001 to 1502100, 1502101 to 1502200, 1502201 to 1502300, 1502301 to 1502400, and 1502401 to 1502500.
