A woman was slashed to death as she tried to separate her husband and son who were fighting in a village in Ntimaru, Migori County.
Police said Christine Mokami, 40 died on the spot after being hacked in the head by her husband.
The husband is said to have returned home late on Saturday October 4, 2025 and picked up a quarrel with his son.
This went physical and when the mother of the son tried to intervene, she was hit in the head multiple times.
The son escaped with a cut on the left hand and was treated and discharged from hospital.
The woman bled and died in the house before the body was picked up to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations, police said.
The assailant escaped the scene after the fatal attack, police added.
The hunt on the suspect is ongoing. Police want the suspect to surrender for action.
Elsewhere in Kipotoni, Lungalunga, Kwale County, a 70-year-old man was found dead after an attack by unknown assailants.
This is the latest such incident which targets the aged in the area amid fears among locals in Kwale and Kilifi Counties in general.
