At Least 3 Pupils Injured After Wall Of Building Under Construction Collapses In Kayole, Nairobi

Three pupils were Tuesday injured after a wall from a building under construction collapsed into a classroom at a school in Nasra Estate within Kayole Sub-County, Nairobi.

Police said the incident occurred at an Islamic Integrated School in Komarock Location when a wall from an adjacent construction site gave way and crashed into a classroom.

Police said the report was made by the school director, Hussein Ismail, after the collapse injured three pupils.

The injured children were all male and aged between 12 and 13.

Police rushed to the scene and established that the pupils had already been taken to Hayat Hospital for treatment and were in stable condition.

Such incidents of collapse of structures under construction have been on the rise amid calls for safety measures to be put in place for all.

The accidents have left dozens of people dead and others wounded.

For instance, three men are missing after a highrise building under construction collapsed in Oloolua, Kajiado County. Police and other rescue teams said they had recovered one body by Tuesday as the search goes on.

Part of the building collapsed on Saturday as it was still under construction.

Officials have been calling for strict measures to be in place for general safety of all.

Corruption and lack of supervision have been linked to the incidents.

Officials say the reported cases are still under probe amid push for justice for those so far affected.

On Tuesday, a section of South C residents wrote to the housing Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome over lack of action on an incident where two people were killed after a 16-storey building under construction collapsed in January 2026.

There has been no action taken so far, more than four months after the tragedy. Locals have been calling for action by even staging protests in the area and other public offices.
