Two suspects involved in a series of armed robberies are currently being held at Menengai Police Station in Nakuru County.
The suspects, identified as Collins Masira Michira and Cornelius Audi Odhiambo, were apprehended by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in the Mercy Njeri area of Rongai Sub-County on Friday afternoon.
According to a police statement, the two are believed to be connected to a string of violent robberies that have taken place in the Ngata area.
Their arrest came after thorough investigations by the DCI, which led officers to the location of the suspects.
During the arrest, law enforcement officers recovered several items believed to have been stolen.
These included four mobile phones, shoes, and clothing for both adults and children, which are suspected to belong to victims of the robberies.
Additionally, the police found tools allegedly used in the break-ins, such as a knife, sword, machete, and heavy-duty shovels, which were reportedly used to gain entry into homes and inflict injuries on victims.
The DCI praised local residents for their cooperation, which contributed to the success of the operation.
The suspects remain in police custody as they await their court appearance to face charges related to the robberies.
Police have assured the public that further investigations are ongoing and have encouraged continued collaboration between citizens and law enforcement to reduce crime in the area.
