An Assistant Chief from Londiani, Kericho County, has been apprehended for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl.
The suspect, 42-year-old Douglas Koech Kipkemoi, who serves as the Assistant Chief for Kabianga Sub-location, is accused of committing the crime on Wednesday, July 10, near his residence.
According to the police report, the incident came to light when “It was established that on the 11th day of July 2024 at about 1700 hrs the child complained of pain in her genital area while she was urinating which prompted her mother to inquire from her what had happened.”
The report continues, “The child then disclosed that she was defiled by one Douglas Koech Kipkemoi aged 42 years (Ass. Chief Kabianga Sub-location) the previous day, 10th July 2024 at about 1900 hrs near the suspect’s home.”
Fearing for his safety due to the public’s outrage, the assistant chief turned himself in to the authorities.
The police report further notes, “Both the victim and suspect were escorted to Londiani Sub-county Hospital for medical examination and necessary action taken.”
Douglas Koech Kipkemoi is scheduled to appear in court at the Molo Law Courts.
