The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) has announced job vacancies for qualified Kenyans interested in applying for the position of Senior Auditor.
An advertisement notice (SA/01/10/2024) published on October 8, 2024, calls for applications for 30 available positions.
The OAG is an independent entity established under Article 229 of the Constitution of Kenya, tasked with ensuring accountability in the use of public resources across the three branches of government Legislature, Judiciary, and Executive as well as with Constitutional Commissions and any entities funded by public funds.
According to the advertisement, the OAG is seeking to recruit qualified staff to fill the Senior Auditor roles.
Successful candidates will be responsible for executing routine audit plans, consolidating audit queries for review, and reporting to the Principal Auditor.
They will be deployed in various specialized audit services, including Performance Audit, Forensic Audit, and IT Audit, across OAG offices located in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kakamega, Nyeri, Embu, Machakos, Isiolo, Kericho, Kilifi, Garissa, Homa Bay, and Kitale.
Key responsibilities include participating in the preparation of audit work plans, identifying risky areas in client operations, analyzing the effectiveness of internal controls, and conducting risk assessments to ensure business continuity for auditee institutions.
Requirements for Appointment:
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, preferably in fields relevant to auditing, such as Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Law, Engineering, or other related disciplines.
- CPA Part II of the Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA K) qualification or professional certification in CFE, CISA, or equivalent qualifications relevant to auditing.
- A minimum of 6 years of practical experience, with at least 3 years at the level of Audit Associate I or a comparable position.
- Demonstrated competence in administrative skills, planning, managing audit functions, and leading teams.
