A 37-year-old man from Ragumo in Kisumu East passed away on Tuesday after being severely attacked by unidentified individuals.
The assault reportedly occurred on Monday.
The victim, Pius Orodi, had been admitted to Jaramogi Teaching and Referral Hospital in critical condition.
Police confirmed that the case is under active investigation.
In Bungoma County, police are also looking into the death of Paul Kisulya, whose body was discovered floating in Mayanja Dam in Sango “B” village.
After receiving a report on Tuesday morning, officers, with the assistance of local residents, retrieved the body.
Investigators noted that Kisulya’s body had visible wounds likely caused by a sharp object, and both of his eyes had been gouged out.
The scene was examined, and the body was taken to Bungoma County Referral Hospital’s mortuary for a postmortem examination.
