

Banisa Member of Parliament Kullow Maalim Hassan, died Tuesday night at a Nairobi hospital following an accident involving a motorbike.
The family and his colleagues said he passed away at Agha Khan Hospital where he had been admitted to ICU since last Friday following the accident in South C.
He is said to have been hit by a motorbike on the roadside and fell on the ground hitting his head.
He sustained serious head injuries and was admitted to hospital where he passed on days later.
A number of his colleagues eulogized him as a hardworking and dedicated legislator.
Banisa is in Mandera County and he was elected on the UDM ticket.
“Kullow was the epitome of an illustrious leader, a devoted public servant, and an amiable figure in the community who discharged his leadership responsibilities with great honor and dexterity,” said Eldas MP Aden Keynan.
He added they will remember him as a transformative leader and an instrumental community icon whose rich legacy will shape and inspire the next generation of leaders.
His death means there will be a by-election in the area.
There were plans to bury him as per Muslim traditions.
