A boda boda rider was arrested and charged with killing Banisa MP Kullow Maalim Hassan through dangerous driving.
Philip Mweteli, charged before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu denied five charges.
He denied that on March 25, 2023, in the South B area in Nairobi, he drove a motorcycle dangerous whereby he knocked down Hassan who suffered injuries and died while undergoing treatment
Mweteli denied other counts of failing to report the accident and driving a motorcycle without a license.
The accused was freed on a cash bail of Sh300, 000 with an alternative bond of Sh500, 000 with one surety.
The MP died Wednesday days after he was involved in the accident.
He was admitted to Aga Khan Hospital on Saturday, March 25 where he died.
He was buried at Langata Cemetery.
The rider escaped the accident scene after the MP fell and injured his head.
Police trailed and arrested him on Thursday.
