Police are investigating the death of a 30-year-old man whose body was found lying beside a road in Nairobi’s Kilimani area on Thursday morning.
The body of Hanningtone Nakitira, a Luhya man, was discovered along Nyangumi Road near Golden Spot after a member of the public alerted police.
Police responded to the scene and found the deceased lying motionless by the roadside. Police said the body had no visible injuries and that the deceased appeared to have been living on the streets.
The body was moved to the Nairobi Funeral Home for preservation and a post-mortem examination.
The cause of death has not yet been established, and police have opened investigations.
And police in Nakuru West Sub-County have launched investigations after an amputated human leg was found abandoned in a riverbed in the Kaptembwo area on Thursday morning.
The discovery was reported by a resident of Osieko, who alerted police after spotting the body part lying in the riverbed.
Police officers visited the scene and confirmed the recovery of an amputated left leg wrapped in a bandage.
The scene was documented before the body part was taken to Kwa Jack Mortuary, where it will be preserved pending identification and disposal.
Police have launched investigations to establish the origin of the amputated limb and the circumstances under which it was abandoned.
No arrests have been made.
