Police are investigating the murder of a 68-year-old woman whose body was found in a tree plantation in Nambale, Busia County.
The body of Elizabeth Shiambiani was found lying under a tree on the plantation.
It was alleged that she left her house February 14 night for a burial vigil at her neighbour’s home before the incident happened.
It was not until the following day her body was discovered. It is not clear who was behind the murder and the motive.
The body, which had visible injuries was moved to a local mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.
In Bomet, one Wesley Kimutai Langat, 48 was found dead after a murder incident.
The body of the deceased was found outside his house at an adjacent maize plantation within Kimugul village.
His son is a suspect in the murder incident, police said of the February 14 tragedy.
The suspect was later arrested and is set to face murder charges, police said.
The motive of the murder is yet to be disclosed.
The body was moved to Kapkatet Mission Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Murder cases have been on the rise amid calls on parties to solve their differences amicably.
Police say some of the incidents are under probe while others have been solved.
