A hospital in Nakuru called the War Memorial Hospital had a problem.
They had a body in their morgue for nearly six months.
This body belonged to a woman whose family was fighting over her.
In September 2023, the hospital started keeping the body because the family couldn’t agree on what to do with it.
But then, on February 15, 2024, the court decided that the woman should be buried.
Her kids were happy about this decision and went to the hospital to talk about paying the bill.
The bill was a lot of money—Sh.921,000.
But before they could sort it out, something strange happened.

On February 20th, some people broke into the hospital’s morgue.
They took the woman’s body and disappeared. The family was shocked.
They had to move the body to another place, called the Nakuru Referral Hospital Morgue, and then later to Umash Funeral Home on February 21st, 2024.
The hospital’s matron, Patricia Musale, was upset about this. She went to the police station in Nakuru West to report what happened.
The police are now trying to find out who took the body.
Patricia Musale said, “The body was moved without proper documentation and an uncleared bill.”
This means whoever took the body didn’t follow the right rules and didn’t pay the bill.
It’s a strange and sad situation for the family who just wanted to bury their loved one.
