A third-year Bomet University female student stabbed her boyfriend in the chest after she was told their love affair was over.
Bomet Central Sub-county deputy police commandant Bashir Ali said the incident happened when the lady, 21, had visited her boyfriend, 25, at a Sewage residential area on the outskirts of Bomet town in the company of another female friend.
The lady was agitated by the news from her boyfriend, who is also in his third year in the same school that the relationship had come to an end.
According to the police, the lady removed a kitchen knife she was hiding in her undergarments and stabbed him in the chest, where he collapsed and fell down immediately.
The lady who had accompanied her tried to retrain her from doing more harm and raised an alarm, attracting more people.
He was rescued and rushed to Tenwek hospital while unconscious.
The suspect was arrested and taken to Bomet central police station for interrogation.
