A farmer in Bungoma’s Lwakhakha area is urgently seeking assistance to recover eight cows that were reportedly stolen by suspected thieves.
The farmer, identified as 61-year-old Jialo Masinde, discovered the disappearance of his cattle, which included three bulls, three cows, and two calves, valued at Sh240,000, upon waking up.
According to officers from the Lwakhakha Police Station, the cattle had been tied up in Masinde’s compound and were taken during the night by unknown perpetrators.
The police believe the robbers drove the animals away to an undisclosed location.
Efforts are currently underway to locate the stolen cattle, with police promising to provide updates on the investigation’s progress.
In a separate incident on Tuesday night at around 9:30 PM, a fire broke out in the Reuben slums of Nairobi.
Authorities received a report of the fire from Railway B Zone.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the blaze originated in one of the rooms before rapidly spreading to 268 other units.
The Nairobi fire brigade responded promptly and managed to contain the fire.
Fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities reported, although the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Additionally, at 11:07 PM on the same night, another fire erupted at a scrap metal store located opposite the White House in Langata, causing damage to properties of an undetermined value.
Police investigations indicate the possibility of arson in this case, and a suspect has been apprehended.
The Nairobi fire brigade also contained this fire, with no injuries or loss of life reported. Officers from the Langata Police Station are taking necessary actions regarding the incident.
