Police in Kuresoi North, Nakuru County, have arrested a 42-year-old man Assistant Chief accused of defiling a 4-year-old girl.
The apprehension of Kabianga Sub-Location Assistant Chief Douglas Koech Kipkemoi followed the child’s disclosure to her parents, who then informed the authorities.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the girl complained of pain while urinating, prompting her parents to inquire further.
Upon questioning, the child revealed that she had been sexually assaulted by the administrator.
The parents immediately took her to Londiani Sub-County Hospital for medical examination and treatment.
After confirming the assault, they reported the incident to the police, leading to Kipkemoi’s arrest.
In a statement, the DCI described the situation as harrowing, detailing the prompt actions taken by the parents upon learning of their daughter’s ordeal.
The suspect has since been arraigned and is currently remanded at Milimani GK Prison in Nakuru.
The case is scheduled to be mentioned in court on Thursday.
