The Communication and Authority of Kenya (CAK) will revoke four national postal and courier service providers’ licenses in seven days.
The Director-General of the CAK, Ezra Chiloba through the gazette notice said the revocation of these licenses is in accordance with the provisions of the Kenya Information and Communications Act, 1998.
He did not give reasons for withdrawal.
The operators who will be affected by this decision are Concierge East Africa Limited, Sokwe Deluxe Safaris Limited, Eagle Saints Limited, and North Rift Luxury Shuttle.
The CAK said that after revocation, the licensees will no longer be permitted to offer the services connected to the pertinent licenses. The revocation of these licenses may have a significant effect on the general public, local governments, businesses, individuals, or groups of individuals within the nation.
“Any resources held under any of these licenses also shall revert back to the Authority upon revocation,” the gazette notice read.
The general public is also notified that any legal or natural person, or group of individuals, who wish to make any representations or objections to the revocation of the licenses, should do so by writing to the Director-General of the CAK at the CA Centre, Waiyaki Way, P.O Box 14448-00800, Nairobi.
The letter should indicate the license category on the cover enclosing it.
