His family had come to Kenya earlier to organize this.
Hakizimana and Kiptum both lost their lives in a car accident on February 11, 2023, in the Kaptagat area along the Elgeyo Marakwet-Ravine road, according to police reports.
“Despite an autopsy report stating Hakizimana died from a head injury, his family disputes this, claiming his injuries didn’t match the report’s findings.”
His niece Sandrine stated, “When we saw him, he didn’t have any fractures. We reject the report.”
The family is urging the government to investigate his death.
Meanwhile, Kiptum will be buried on February 24, 2024, at the family home in Kaptagat.
