Police are investigating the recovery of a rifle from a site that is under construction in the Westlands area, Nairobi.
The workers were excavating a site on Monday along Twiga Road when they stumbled on a polythene bag containing a metal.
On checking, the workers said they realized it was an SMG Patchet, which had 19 bullets.
Police who visited the scene said they also recovered a magazine loaded with a known number of ammunition, which could not be immediately established.
Police said they intend to interrogate the owner of the home as part of the probe into the discovery.
The weapon was taken away for ballistic tests to establish if it had been used in any criminal offense.
