A Cabinet secretary and Member of Parliament from Murang’a county are embroiled in a bitter tussle over the ownership of a Karen home.

Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Labour and Social Protection Florence Bore and Gatanga Member of Parliament (MP) Edward Muriu are engaged in a bitter feud over the Sh120 million Karen luxury home.
The MP is at the same time likely to face assault charges after he slapped a caretaker of the house while demanding answers on why he allowed Bore to occupy the house before paying the needed money and even signing a sale agreement.
The caretaker has recorded statements with the police over the drama and asked to process the P3 form to enable the police to take action.
The first-time MP has accused the CS of forcibly occupying the house he is selling at Amara Ridge after expressing interest in the house.
Muriu said the CS is yet to sign a sale agreement or make payment and is using police officers to frustrate his efforts to move her from the house for renovations.
The caretaker is said to have received Sh12 million as part of the downpayment on the house
But the MP argues there was no agreement on the same and is yet to receive the cash.

There was a fracas at the home on Friday, June 16 as police who guard the CS whisked away a man who said the MP had contracted him for repairs at the home before a new owner takes possession of the house.
When he arrived, he found the CS had occupied it.
The contractor was manhandled and denied access to the premises, which the Cabinet Secretary had already taken over.
The wife of the MP Mary Mureu, said the Bore made an offer of Sh90 million for the house, but she and her husband said the final asking price was Sh120 million.
“Thereafter, I traveled to the US for my daughter’s graduation and when I came back on Wednesday, I brought my people to clean the house and mow the lawn.. and to my shock, I found the house open,” she said.
The MP has been advised to move to court and seek legal redress.
The CS is out of the country and efforts to get her comment were futile.
Amara Ridge which is owned by Cyton is known for housing various Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries along with other dignitaries.
