Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has pledged strong action against those responsible for the murder of Meru County blogger Daniel Muthiani, widely known as Sniper.
Kindiki, in a statement on his official social media account, assured that investigators are nearing the completion of the process to identify the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
In his words, “Those accountable for orchestrating, funding, and carrying out the brutal murder of Daniel Muthiani, aka Sniper, will face the consequences of justice.”

Kindiki emphasized that detectives are in the final stages of pinpointing the individuals involved, including those who enticed the young man to his tragic end and those responsible for the torture, murder, and subsequent disposal of his body in an attempt to conceal the appalling crime.
Sniper went missing on December 2, with his lifeless body discovered on December 16, 2023.
A postmortem examination conducted by government pathologist Johansen Oduor at the Marimanti Level 4 hospital Mortuary in Tharaka Nithi, Meru County, revealed that Sniper died from strangulation.
Oduor noted marks on his neck and signs of oxygen deprivation.
Additionally, Sniper had fractured ribs and head injuries, indicating that he was strangled before being dumped into a river.
