The outskirts of Kericho town were filled with shock and sadness when the body of a middle-aged man in an advanced state of decomposition was found hanging from a tree near the Kisumu road junction along the Kericho-Kisumu Highway.
Local police officers from Nyagacho police station suspect that the man might have taken his own life by hanging from the tree.
However, a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
The discovery of the body occurred when members of the public and bus conductors who often do business at the junction noticed a strong, unpleasant odor coming from a nearby thicket.
To their astonishment, they found the man’s lifeless body suspended from the top of a tree with a rope tied around his neck.
Word quickly spread, and a crowd gathered at the scene, but no one was able to identify the deceased individual.
The incident was reported to the Kericho police station, prompting officers to swiftly respond.
They removed the body from the tree and transported it to the mortuary at Kericho County Referral Hospital.
