Decomposed Body Of Man Found In House In Embu Village

Police are investigating the death of a man whose decomposing body was discovered inside his house in Embu West Sub-County.

The deceased, identified as John Kennedy Muturi, believed to be about 50 years old, was found lying lifeless on his bed at his home in Iganjagi Village on the night of July 15.

Police said the body had already begun decomposing and was infested with insects, indicating that the man had died several days earlier.

Preliminary investigations established that the deceased lived alone and had no known family members.

The body was moved to Embu General Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.

Police are continuing with investigations into the incident.

And police arrested three suspects in connection with the death of a 33-year-old man following an alleged assault in Kimaeti Sub-County, Bungoma County.

The deceased, identified as Ezekiel Wekesa Wanjala, was reportedly attacked at around 12.30 a.m. along Masielo Road in Musakasa Sub-location.

According to police, the victim’s father, was awakened by a neighbour who informed him that his son was being assaulted by three people over circumstances that remain unclear.

The victim was found alive and rushed to Los Olivos Medicare Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police officers who visited the hospital noted that although the body had no visible external injuries, blood was oozing from the victim’s right ear, suggesting possible internal injuries.

Following preliminary investigations, police arrested three suspects.

The suspects were taken to Bumula Police Station as investigations continue.

The scene was photographed and documented before the body was transferred to Bungoma County Referral Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination.

Police are investigating the motive behind the fatal assault.

The suspects were on Friday expected to be presented in court even as police investigate the matter.

Such incidents have been on the rise in the area amid police investigations.

Most of the cases are pending unsolved, officials said.
