Locals said there was a foul smell from the house of Ephania Atieno, 27 who had not been seen for days.
She lived alone in the house.
The neighbors said they peeped through one of the windows and saw the body on the bed prompting them to call the police on Tuesday morning.
Police broke into the house and found the decomposed body on the bed.
Police said the body did not have any physical injuries and that they are yet to know if she died out of suicide or natural causes.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man was electrocuted in Mukuru slums, Nairobi.
The body of the man was found near Ngong River which runs through the slum.
The deceased held a sack containing assorted plastics.
It is believed that he was electrocuted by a naked wire on the wall of a bridge.
Cases of electrocution have been on the rise and this is blamed on illegal connection and poor wiring.
