DJ Joe Mfalme Sunday spoke out for the first time after his arrest in connection with the alleged assault of Kabete Police Station detective Felix Kelian who passed on.
Police said they are questioning Joseph Mwenda Munoru known as ‘DJ Joe Mfalme’ alongside his bouncer, driver, and photographer.
Also being questioned are three police officers who attended the accident that led to the assault, police said.
DJ Mfalme and his team were headed home to Kikuyu when they were involved in a minor noninjury accident.
In his statement released on March 24, 2024, DJ Joe Mfalme expressed his deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and all those impacted by the unfortunate incident that led to the officer’s death.
Inspector Kelian succumbed to his injuries on Friday, March 22 while receiving treatment at Nairobi West Hospital.
The altercation happened on March 16.
In his public statement, Mfalme confirmed his full cooperation with the ongoing investigation and extended his cooperation as may be required by the authorities.
He expressed his condolences to the family and friends affected by the tragic incident and reiterated his commitment to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.
In the statement, addressed to his supporters, friends, and well-wishers, DJ Joe Mfalme and his team pledged their cooperation with the investigating authorities.
“This is a public statement intended solely to address the recent developments surrounding the unfortunate incident that has come to the attention of the general public.”
“First and foremost, we would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and all those affected by this unfortunate incident.

The statement stressed DJ Joe Mfalme’s commitment to cooperate with the investigation and reiterated his condolences to those affected.
However, given the ongoing nature of the investigation and its sensitivity, the statement noted a reluctance to provide further comment at this time.
“We deeply appreciate your understanding and unwavering support,” the statement concluded.
