The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has released a shortlist of 14 candidates vying for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position.
This announcement follows the advertisement of the vacancy in local newspapers on September 17, 2024, with a call for applications due by October 7, 2024.
In a statement made on Friday, the EACC disclosed that a total of 172 applicants from all 47 counties had submitted their credentials before narrowing the field to the 14 finalists.
The selected candidates include Stephen Maisha Ngowa from Kitui, Doreen Nkatha Muthaura of Isiolo, Jackson Kaunda Mue from Machakos, Joseph Vincent Onyango from Nairobi, and Paul Ndemo Maina from Kisii.
Also featured on the list are Victor Omari Okongo from Siaya, Peter Lokol Lomulen representing Turkana, Obadiah Kipkoech Keitany of Baringo, John Tentemo Ole Moyaki from Kajiado, and David Kiplagat Ruto Too of Uasin Gishu.
The shortlist is rounded out by Abdi Mohamed Mohamud from Garissa, Justa Wawira Mwangi of Embu, Mohamed Abdul Mmaka from Lamu, and Waweru Karanja representing Laikipia.
“The shortlisted candidates are invited for interviews at the Public Service Commission House, located on Harambee Avenue, Nairobi, in the boardroom on the 1st floor,” stated the EACC notice.
Interviews for Ngowa, Muthaura, Mue, Onyango, and Maina are scheduled for November 19, 2024, between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Candidates Okongo, Lomulen, Keitany, Moyaki, and Too will be interviewed on November 20 during the same timeframe.
Lastly, Mohamud, Mwangi, Mmaka, and Karanja are set for November 21.
All shortlisted candidates must bring their national ID cards, academic and professional qualifications, valid clearance certificates from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
They should also present a self-declaration form from the EACC, letters of recognition from the Commission for Higher Education for any foreign degrees, and recommendations from relevant professional bodies, if applicable.
The EACC has invited the public to submit any credible information concerning the suitability of the shortlisted candidates via sworn affidavit to the Chairperson, Dr. David Oginde, at chair@integrity.go.ke or delivered in person by November 11.
The successful candidate will take over from the current CEO, Twalib Mbarak, whose six-year term is set to conclude in January 2025.
