Patrick Gichobi, aged 70, returned home one evening, marking the beginning of a tragic turn of events.
“The two got back home at around 5 pm.
They had gone on a drinking spree in the area,” recounted family members, with Margaret Waguama leading the narrative.

A quarrel erupted between the uncle and his 24-year-old nephew, escalating quickly. In the heat of the argument, the elderly man grabbed a kitchen knife and fatally stabbed his nephew.
“He was found lying in a pool of blood. He died while undergoing treatment at Kerugoya Hospital,” lamented the family, grappling with the sudden loss.
Subsequently, the police initiated a manhunt for the fleeing suspect, who had absconded the scene after the violent altercation.
“It is not the first time that the accused has attacked someone.
He is fond of attacking people when drunk,” remarked Peter Wanjohi, shedding light on the suspect’s troubling behavior.
Throughout the night, residents of the Togonye area tirelessly searched for the culprit, but their efforts proved futile.
