Elon Musk revealed that he felt “tricked” into letting one of his children, who transitioned from male to female, take puberty blockers.
The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX said he was informed that his child, originally named Xavier, “might commit suicide” if not allowed to transition.
As a result of the therapy, Musk believes he has “lost” his son, now 20 years old.
In June 2022, Xavier legally changed their name to Vivian Jenna Wilson after transitioning.
Vivian expressed a desire to no longer be associated with her biological father, stating, “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”
She filed legal documents in a California court to be recognized as female and to register her new name.
Her mother is Justine Wilson, a Canadian writer and Musk’s first wife; they divorced in 2008.
This experience significantly impacted Musk, making him aware of what he calls the “woke mind virus,” which he views as excessive political correctness and progressive ideals.
He vowed to combat this, in part by taking over Twitter, now known as X.
In an interview with Canadian psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson on The Daily Wire, Musk recounted how he was “tricked” into signing documents for Xavier’s treatment.
At the time, amidst the confusion of the Covid pandemic, he was told that Xavier might commit suicide.
He criticized those promoting such treatments, describing them as “incredibly evil” and suggesting they should face legal consequences.
Musk expressed regret, stating that he did not understand that puberty blockers are essentially sterilization drugs, which led to losing his son.
He vowed to destroy what he calls the “woke mind virus” and mentioned making some progress towards this goal.
