The importance of National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO) in Narok County cannot be overstated, particularly in their role of disseminating government policies at the grassroots level.
Narok County Commissioner Kipkech Lotiatia emphasized this during a gathering at the Narok Teachers’ Training College, where he addressed Deputy County Commissioners, Assistant Deputy Commissioners, Chiefs, and their assistants.
Lotiatia underscored the significance of the chiefs in ensuring that all residents within their jurisdictions are well-informed about government programs and adhere to them accordingly.
He highlighted initiatives like the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), aimed at facilitating access to quality medical care for all residents.
Lotiatia also stressed the importance of spreading awareness about the presidential directive to plant over 15 billion tree seedlings within ten years, encouraging residents to participate in tree planting on their farms.
In Lotiatia’s words, “As the government’s grassroots spokesperson, it is crucial to consistently communicate current government policies to the public, ensuring they understand and appreciate the government’s efforts.”
Additionally, the administrators were urged to lead the fight against illicit brewing and warned against any attempts to undermine the state’s efforts.
Lotiatia made it clear that those engaging in such activities would face legal consequences.
He emphasized the role of NGAO as the government’s eyes on the ground, responsible for identifying and addressing issues related to the production, transportation, and consumption of illicit drugs and substances.
Furthermore, the chiefs were tasked with ensuring that all school-going children attend school regularly according to the academic calendar.
Lotiatia emphasized that parents who neglect this responsibility should be held accountable.
In a recent meeting with county administrators, Lotiatia emphasized the need to enhance security in their respective jurisdictions.
He urged officers to utilize all available resources to safeguard the lives and property of the people effectively.
