She’ll be competing at the World Athletics Road Running Championships in Riga on October 1.
Faith Kipyegon, who has broken multiple world records, will be participating in her first-ever road race, the road mile, in Latvia’s capital.
Joining her in this event are Nelly Chepchirchir, who recently achieved a personal best time of 3:56.72 in the 1500m, and Beatrice Chepkoech, the world record-holder in the steeplechase.
In the 5km race, Kenya’s squad includes Beatrice Chebet, the world cross-country champion, along with Caroline Nyaga and Lilian Kasait Rengeruk.
Peres Jepchirchir, the Olympic marathon champion who set a women-only world record at the 2020 World Half Marathon Championships, will be competing in the half marathon.
She’ll be joined by Irine Kimais and Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi, who are both leaders in the world rankings.
On the men’s side, Reynold Kipkorir Cheruiyot, the World U20 1500m champion, and Abel Kipsang, a world indoor bronze medalist, will represent Kenya in the men’s mile.
The men’s 5km team is led by Nicholas Kipkorir, who holds the national record at 12:55, and Stanley Waithaka Mburu, the 2022 world 10,000m silver medalist.
