The family of Victoria Mumbua Muloki, a taxi driver who was tragically murdered, has confirmed her identity after identifying her body at the City Mortuary.
This revelation followed the interrogation of a suspect, Edwin Ng’etich, who was found driving Mumbua’s stolen vehicle.
Victoria had been missing since September 27, 2024, and her remains were discovered by officers from Lari Police Station and registered at the City Mortuary on September 29.
The identification was made by her family on Thursday morning, following an extensive investigation into her disappearance.
“Yes, I received a call to come and confirm.
That’s my sister, and we can confirm she was killed,” said Meshack Kingi, Victoria’s brother.
He expressed his confusion, stating, “I don’t understand how my sister ended up in Gilgil.
How did she go from Mombasa to Gilgil? It’s hard to comprehend, but now that I’ve confirmed it’s her, I need to know the truth.
The phone was found in the car and taken by the DCI.”
Detectives from Mombasa, Nakuru, Lari, and the homicide department, led by Officer Nyuguto, were present at the mortuary to provide updates to the family regarding the ongoing investigation.
The primary suspect, Edwin Ng’etich, was apprehended in Nakuru while in possession of Mumbua’s vehicle and is currently held at Kilimani Police Station.
“This man led us to the location where they killed her. I need to find out who is truly responsible for my sister’s death,” Kingi added.
Records indicate that Ng’etich has a history of similar offenses, raising further concerns about his involvement.
Mumbua had vanished after accepting a ride request from Mombasa to Samburu on that fateful Friday.
