Simeon Nyaundi Ogari, the former Member of Parliament for Bomachoge Chache, has passed away.
Ogari, a professional Quantity Surveyor, join the political scene in 2009 when he won a by-election for the Bomachoge parliamentary seat, succeeding the late Joel Onyancha.
Ogari’s political career continued when the original Bomachoge constituency was divided into Bomachoge Borabu and Bomachoge Chache.
He was elected as the first MP for the newly established Bomachoge Chache, marking a significant milestone in his political journey.
Edison Onduso, Ogari’s long-time Personal Assistant, confirmed that Ogari died at his residence in Karen, Nairobi, last night after a long illness.
Onduso, who had known Ogari since his youth, described him as a man of exceptional humility and professionalism.
“I have known Ogari since I was a young boy, and I can attest to his good character,” Onduso said, reflecting on Ogari’s positive influence and integrity.
The news of Ogari’s passing has elicited tributes from across the political spectrum.
Nominated Senator Essy Okenyuri, who represents Bomachoge Borabu, expressed profound grief over the loss.
She highlighted Ogari’s enduring impact on the community, stating, “His legacy will endure for many years.”
Senator Okenyuri described it as an honor to have known Ogari, acknowledging the substantial contributions he made during his time in public service.
Ogari’s death marks the end of a distinguished chapter in the region’s political history, and he is remembered for his dedication and service to his constituents.
