Former Lamu Senator Anuar Loitiptip was injured Tuesday during a mugging incident at Globe Cinema roundabout, Nairobi.
Police rescued Anuar after being mugged by a group of suspected thugs Tuesday, December 20 night and taken to hospital.
After the attack, he was rushed to Aga Khan hospital with injuries in the mouth and head.
He lost an unknown amount of money and electronics.
The former nominated Senator was found bleeding by police officers who were on patrol and explained to them that he had been attacked by several youths who also robbed him.
Anuar said he was walking to a guest house in Ngara at around 9.45 pm from the Central Business District when he was attacked.
The area is among places seen as dangerous at night.
Police said the victim was stable in the hospital and efforts to get those behind the attack are ongoing.
Police said they are investigating the incident.
