Amos Kimunya, the former Member of Parliament for Kipipiri, has shared the heartbreaking news of his wife Lucy’s demise.
In a heartfelt Facebook post on Tuesday, Kimunya revealed that Lucy passed away while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
Expressing his grief, Kimunya wrote, “It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that I wish to announce that this Tuesday at 3:00 am my dear wife Lucy went to be with the lord while receiving care at Nairobi Hospital.”

Kimunya, a former National Assembly Majority Leader and minister, paid tribute to Lucy as a vital support in both his personal and political life.
He highlighted her significant contributions to environmental initiatives and advocacy for the youth and women. Kimunya bid farewell to Lucy, saying, “Go well, our dear Lucy, we will miss you dearly.”
Details about Lucy’s final farewell will be communicated in the future, Kimunya added.
Formerly appointed as the Minister of Finance by President Mwai Kibaki in 2006, Kimunya continued in the position during Kibaki’s second term after the 2007 general election.
He stepped down from the cabinet in July 2008 to facilitate an investigation into the Grand Regency Hotel’s sale.
After being cleared of any wrongdoing in November of that year, Kimunya was reappointed as Minister of Trade in January 2009 by President Kibaki.
In June 2019, Kimunya assumed the role of National Assembly Majority Leader in the administration of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
