The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has disbursed Sh.2,095,360,000 for participants in the Inua Jamii initiative and an additional Sh.6,118,000 for those involved in the Nutrition Improvement through Cash and Health Education (NICHE) program.
This substantial sum, released on Friday, December 1, is slated for distribution starting Monday, December 4.
The allocated funds are earmarked for 1,044,621 Inua Jamii beneficiaries, each set to receive Sh. 2000 for the month of November.
President Uhuru Kenyatta initiated the Inua Jamii program in 2015 as a pivotal component of his administration’s strategy to combat poverty and support marginalized individuals in society.
The program has garnered ongoing support from the Kenya Kwanza government, and a presidential directive issued in July 2023 now ensures that beneficiaries receive monthly payments.
