Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is observed by Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community.
It is considered one of the Five Pillars of Islam and typically lasts twenty-nine to thirty days, from one sighting of the crescent moon to the next.
Dr. Mwaura reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that all citizens, regardless of their circumstances, are able to observe Ramadan with dignity and peace of mind.
The distribution of foodstuffs underscores the government’s efforts to promote inclusivity and solidarity among its diverse population.
