Interior and National Government Administration Cabinet Secretary, Kithure Kindiki, has emphasized the unwavering commitment of security forces in the ongoing campaign against illicit alcohol.
During a meeting with the County security team in Trans Nzoia, Prof. Kindiki underscored the government’s determination to eradicate illicit brews from the market through established measures.
He cautioned against any attempts to undermine these efforts.
Acknowledging the progress made thus far, Kindiki commended security teams for their proactive stance.
He stated, “I stand here to testify to the commendable work our security teams are undertaking to implement government directives, including the eradication of illicit brews.”
In line with efforts to revitalize the campaign, Kindiki reiterated plans to rotate security officers who have served in one station for more than three years.
He emphasized the importance of this move in rejuvenating the fight against illicit brews and enhancing overall service delivery.
Highlighting the severity of the issue, Kindiki emphasized that illicit alcohol poses a significant threat to national security.
He urged politicians to refrain from interfering in government initiatives aimed at addressing this menace.
Furthermore, the Cabinet Secretary cautioned against divisive rhetoric from politicians and warned that security personnel are vigilant in apprehending individuals inciting violence, regardless of their political affiliations.
He stated, “Let it be known that those who finance troublemakers to disrupt peace will face the full force of the law, irrespective of their political alignment.”
Regarding the government’s efforts to reclaim the Kitale Prison land from encroachers, Kindiki assured that decisive action would be taken.
He denounced attempts to manipulate public property and instructed security personnel to enforce the presidential directive to reclaim grabbed land without compromise.
“We will not tolerate individuals playing games with public assets through deceitful tactics.
The directive to reclaim unlawfully seized public land will be executed without compromise,” he affirmed.
