The Kenya National Highways Authority (Kenha) announced a temporary closure of Haile Selassie Avenue and Parliament Road on Friday night.
Kenha said the two roads will be closed from Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10 pm to Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 5 am to allow for the installation of service ducts.
The section is key in the management of general traffic flow in the city.
As a result, motorists have been advised to use alternative routes and to cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site.
Currently, a section of Uhuru Highway at Hotel Boulevard and the University of Nairobi roundabout (Mombasa Bound) is closed for maintenance work.
Kenha announced that the closure would be effected beginning Thursday, March 28, until Saturday, April 6 at midnight.
Motorists accessing Uhuru Highway (A8) from Westlands and Thika Road have been advised to use alternative routes and to approach the affected section cautiously.
The alternative routes include Harry Thuku Road, University Way, Prof. Wangari Mathai Road, and Kipande Road.
The agency has been constructing a number of roads in the city leading to their closure for a while.
This led to inconvenience for road users.
